Hi, I'm Alistair. This step-by-step guide to salary benchmarking is based on my experience working with over 80 organisations across the world over the past 15 years.

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you read through it:

  1. Everyone will be at a different stage.

    What you take from this guide will depend on where you're at. While it’s laid out as a six step process, you don’t have to follow it in order. Feel free to dip in and out based on what’s most relevant to your team.

  2. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

    Every company brings its own culture, values and context. What I’ve tried to do here is lay out the common decisions most teams face, and offer a way to work through them in a thoughtful way.

  3. Make it your own and share it

    I've included a free list of key compensation decisions to help you track progress.

    I've also made this guide open source because I believe in sharing knowledge to create change. Please feel free to share it widely.
